The treatment you have been prescribed is for “on-demand” use, which just means you should use it whenever you need it. And because you can self-administer your treatment, you have the power to react quickly to the first signs of an HAE attack, wherever you happen to be.

Remember, you should treat HAE attacks at the first sign. The sooner you treat with Berinert, the faster you are likely to experience relief.

Recognise your early signs of an attack

While attacks of HAE can occur suddenly and without any warning,1,2 over time you may begin to recognise some early signs that an attack might happen.

Remember, there are a few symptoms that could be the first signs of a potentially life-threatening attack and require immediate medical attention.3–5

So, if you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help immediately by calling 999:
